Apply for the Fund


The Neighborhood Opportunity Fund finances projects in commercial corridors across Chicago's South, Southwest and West Sides.

Step 1: Determine Project Eligibility

Search for your project address below to see if you are eligible to apply for a Neighborhood Opportunity Fund grant.

Step 2: Review Program Guidelines

Review the the program guidelines to learn about the program rules and regulations,  requirements for applicants, and the application review and project selection process.

Step 3: Get More Information

During Application Rounds, we host Information Sessions at which the Department of Planning and Development and SomerCor staff give a program overview and answer any questions you may have. We encourage you to send any specific questions to NOF@cityofchicago.org.org or to reach out to your local City delegate agency.

Step 4: Submit an Application

The Pre-Screener and Application will open on January 20, 2020 for applications up to $250,000.

Applications for grants more than $250,000 are currently CLOSED.

For applications received for Large Projects prior to November 26, 2019:

You can expect to receive an email with information about the status of your application by December 13, 2019.
